Trailblazers FC is excited to be expanding its programs to include Trailblazers HYPE—Helping Youth Partner and Empower!
Trailblazers HYPE is a Christian leadership and service club for 7th-12th grade students in Hancock County and surrounding areas. We exist to honor God while fostering friendship, faith, and family values. Through youth-led social, service, and leadership activities Trailblazers HYPE builds meaningful connections and equips students to grow in strong moral character, responsible stewardship, and confident leadership.
WHO CAN COME TO TRAILBLAZERS HYPE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES?
Any and all interested youth in 7th to 12th grades that live in Hancock County and surrounding areas may attend events and activities hosted by Trailblazers HYPE unless otherwise specified.
WHAT, WHEN, AND WHERE ARE HYPE EVENTS?
Event dates, times, and location will vary each month depending on activity, but students will get a chance to make new friends and mingle with old friends at least twice a month from September to June.
Most events will include icebreakers and interactive activities. The HYPE youth leadership team will actively work to make sure everyone feels included and welcome.
WHAT ARE THE BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS OF ANYONE ATTENDING EVENTS?
All participants, members, leaders, students, volunteers, etc. are expected to exhibit Christ-like behavior at all times during HYPE events and activities.

WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A TRAILBLAZERS HYPE MEMBER?
Trailblazers HYPE is truly a unique program. Next school year all programming will be planned for youth, by youth. As active participants in the planning process from inception to execution, the youth leadership team will work together to will offer a variety of innovative social and service events and activities throughout the year. In addition to the executive leadership positions, Trailblazers HYPE offers various levels of leadership opportunities only available to members.
Joining HYPE not only allows youth to meet new friends in a fun, safe environment, but it also aims to grow a desire in youth to help and volunteer within their community. According to JAMA Network Open research published in May 2023, children and adolescents who volunteered through school, a religious organization, or a community group were associated with better overall health and wellness. Compared to those who had not engaged in service in the past year, children who had participated were 34% more likely to be in excellent or very good health, 66% more likely to be considered "flourishing" (a positive measure of overall well-being), and 35% less likely to have behavioral problems.
Finally, HYPE members, along with Trailblazers sports team members, receive priority registration for special ticketed events like the fall and spring dances.

WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME PART OF THE HYPE YOUTH LEADERSHIP TEAM?
The youth leadership team is the lifeblood of Trailblazers HYPE and is integral to all aspects of the social, service, and fundraising events.
Varying levels of youth leadership opportunities are available from single-event to yearlong commitments. No previous leadership experience is needed. From entry level to executive leadership, positions will empower youth to develop skills like self-awareness, communication and public speaking, strategic thinking, and teamwork with differing amounts of time commitment and responsibilities.
Executive student leadership positions are open for 10th-12th graders only. This team of volunteers will require the highest level of commitment. The executive leadership team will work closely with the adult leadership team to plan all the events and activities offered through Trailblazers HYPE. Executive student leaders will be expected to attend a 2-3 day summer daytime planning camp based around their schedules in July. Executive leadership applications for the 2026-27 school year will open in May 2026.

WHO SHOULD APPLY TO BE A TRAILBLAZERS HYPE YOUTH LEADER?
Any registered member of Trailblazers HYPE who is looking, has a willing heart, and an eagerness to learn lifelong skills in a positive, encouraging environment.
DO I HAVE TO JOIN THE LEADERSHIP TEAM TO BE A TRAILBLAZERS HYPE MEMBER?
No, student leadership is a cornerstone of Trailblazers HYPE; it is not a requirement. General members are encouraged to come to as many events and activities as possible, but may simply choose to attend events and activities as their schedules allow.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF TRAILBLAZERS HYPE?
A parent or guardian must complete the Trailblazers HYPE registration. Registration is now open. Become a member today!
CAN PARENTS AND SIBLINGS JOIN IN THE HYPE FUN?
The majority of HYPE's events and activities are intended for 7th-12th grade only, but family events will be sprinkled throughout the year.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BECOME A TRAILBLAZERS HYPE MEMBER?
Membership is free! Most events and activities are also zero cost. We strive to keep any fee-based events and activities as affordable as possible so that cost does not prevent attendance.
As an organization, fundraising is paramount, and how we are able to maintain free and low-cost programing. Several opportunities to support Trailblazers HYPE are available throughout the year. We hope to see you there!
